for the professional and serious amateur rider

Some stars we have sold.

These are a few photos of some of the competition horses we have bred, produced and sold who are now happily settled with their new owners, in many cases competing at high levels or maybe just enjoying their lives as a much loved horse.

GreenLanes Balou Star – Balou du Rouet x Danzig Connection (xx) x Thatching (xx)

Our top performing show jumper, Darcey is still based with our show jump rider Stephen Mercer although another of his owners bought her from us in 2018.  She is now winning internationally at 1.50 level despite being just 15.1 hh high!

GreenLanes Hudson – Zambesi x Calvados x Voltaire

Hudson started life as a show jumper but we felt that his future lay more in the Eventing field, so he moved to our event rider, Georgie Wood, to be produced and sold.  However, Georgie felt he had so much talent and potential she didn’t want to part with him so she and her aunt and uncle, Liz and Kari Hales, bought him and have focussed on his eventing career with great success.  He started the 2019 season jumping BE100 courses after starting in late 2018, quickly moved up to Novice level getting placed in all his outings and winning a couple, he then completed his first 2* event with a placing and an Intermediate class as well!  Unfortunately, on track for the 6 year old finals, he then picked up a virus so just had a couple more runs at Open Novice and will start again at ON in 2020 and then move back up to Intermediate.  A very exciting combination!  He also isn’t bad at show jumping now either as he’s strengthened up and matured!

GreenLanes Enigma – Sandreo x Florencio x Lancet

A stunning dressage horse who was a prolific winner in the competition arena being both Regional Champion and Reserve Regional Champion.  Now owned by a young rider, Ellie Webb-Smith and we wish them every success for their future together.

GreenLanes Elidor – Plinius B x Burggraaf x Concorde

“Chutney” was sold to Annie Frampton- Hobbs and with their team was a key member of the winning Team Quest BD  national competition in the first year that it ran. Annie has now started at university and her aunt, Moira Bonner, bought him in the summer of 2019 to concentrate on affiliated dressage and they are now racking up the wins at Novice and Elementary level.  Another horse with a really super temperament – just like his lovely mum “Jam”!

GreenLanes Prospero – Pro Set x Meadowbrook x John O’Gaunt

Not strictly part of the GreenLane Stud breeding programme, “Oscar” was bred for me to have to compete initially but with the breeding and full time work I didn’t have time to do it all!  He had a good dressage career initially getting to Medium level and then swapped to eventing with Georgie Wood and was sold as a good all round horse.  Sadly he got a small injury and is now having fun as a 14 year old hacking and hunting around the Surrey area and enjoying his quieter life!

Beautiful – Larino x Calvados x Voltaire

Again, not strictly part of our breeding programme, but Bee’s dam was bought in foal for her and she was with us from 4 months old!  She is a super type of mare and grew up with Oscar above.  She is now owned by Sarah Baynton and takes part in a lot of riding club activities as well as having a great life hacking and being a much loved equine friend!
